Adam Arnold of Sky News online reports "Seven thousand copies of a cookbook have had to be destroyed because one of it's recipes recommended adding "salt and freshly ground black people"

A Night in Ghada Al - Yaqout's kitchen!

Dear Munch blog readers.. today we indulge you with another post of when great food and friends unite!

Ghada AKA (Jade) , for those unlucky souls who have not had the chance to try Jade's cooking, you should know that she was raised in Italy.. So as the evening unfolds itself you will see the Italian cusine influnce on her dishes!

First, we got some really sexy seabass from Dean and Deluca (Make sure to ask them to get you the fresh ones they have stored in the back!! Don't let them sell you the two day old ones they have on the counter a7em a7em) Oh and ask them to clean it for you for baking the fish..

So after you have your sexy fish all clean, mix in a bowl some good quality virgin olive oil.. loads of garlic to keep you healthy, loads of chilli to keep you kicking, loads of parsley to add some colour to your beautiful eyes, and some salt to taste to get your blood pressure a up a little:)!

Smother the inside of your fish with the marination and don't be stingy... add some more to the skin.. wrap it up like a parcel in a peice of foil and pop it in to the pre-heated oven for about 40-50min at 200 degrees

Now while our fish was cooking.. Jade went on to make a white bean and basil bruschetta..
As you can see, Jade is very skilful and it's all about presentation.. The little bottel of balsamic vinger she is holding is a 40 year old balsamic vinger that is so sweet and beautiful, and it make a world of a diffrence to the dish!
I wish I could afford to drizzel it on every meal I have.. That pricy little heaven in a bottle is for 18.500kd in Dean and Deluca!

The white bean and basil bruschetta topped on some toasted nut bread!
This dish tastes even better then it looks!

So about 45 minutes later.. we get this: Melt in your mouth, fragrant, sea bass that is so delicouse that you really don't wan't to share with any one else:)

I felt kind of left out.. I decided to show off my cooking skills also to Jade.. so I whipped together a sundried tomato, garlic and cream shrimp pasta (pasta made mixed with basil in it. Also from Dean and Deluca) as a little side dish!
It was perfect.. 3 dishes made with love! I much prefer having a dinner with less options then a really big dinner with so many dishes that you get lost in what to eat and not eat!
Seafood galore..what a night!
Thank you Jade and her excellent Sue chef Haithem:)

Ali Talib in Dar al Fanoon Kuwait!

Yesterday was the first day showing Ali Talib's work in Dar al Fanoon! Ali is of Iraqi origin living in the Netherlnds!
He had a few intresting peices, not your typical square paintings.. as you can see from the pictures I loved the one that looks like a person prolfile.. It's worth checking out.. pass be there if you are in the neighborhood!

Dar Al Fanoon is located next to Casper and Gambini in the Behbahani houses behind the Church!

Showing from 14-30 of April!

Munch was there to cater the night away.. (It seems we have become popular in the art scence) :)

This painting is what I enjoyed most! It's hung that way! The second I saw it I felt like I had the urge to turn it so the profile would be facing left! I'm sure they would have thrown me out had I attempted it:/

The new "habba" on the Munch catering menu.. Manchego with a sclice of quince jam on a garlic crostini.. topped with a grape! Lovely!

Mini Pizza's

Some of our best selling BBQ pizza's are the chunky vegetarian and the Spanish pizza.. but it never occured to me to make them in to bite size pizza's for a catering.. till today:)

So now you have it..our favorite BBQ pizza's in mini form..

Munch Away!
