Athba's Bakery!

Why make dessert, whe someone else makes them better then you? I tried my hand in the sweets and bakery department, and it was not too impressive! It's ok, you can't win them all I guess!

But to my luck, my friend/cousin/baker Athba Sultan has a knack for baking and making desserts! So next time you order from Munch, make sure to ask what's cooking in Athba's bakery? You can order any of her yummi cookies, cakes, muffins, puddings, and cobblers when putting a order with Munch!

Chalet BBQ

It's always nice to mix things up a bit! This weekend at the chalet, we tried out a few new recipes that hopefully will make it to the BBQ menu! Off course we had to have the classics around like the Faga'a (truffel) pizza and the sweet and savory pizza as seen in the picture above!

As you can see I think we over ordered:) But we had a good time, and some positive feed back on on the menu!
This was the positive feedback I was telling you about:)
Fahed fell in love with the U.S.A. prime rib chop that we got from Dean and Deluca. Marinated with a new BBQ sauce recipe!

My favorite of the night..BBQ quails with a spicy peanut sauce.

The big boys on the grill: U.S.A Prime Rib beef

Brandet filet from Dean and Deluca.. seasoned with just a bit of salt and peper to taste, and then we made 3 sides to mix and match with it: A peach salasa, walnut and olive paste, and carmalized red onion paste. Off course I forgot to take the picture of the sauces!

Last but not least.. Mr Imtiyaz cooking all those great cuts! Oooh and you can see the Wagu burgers on the grill also!

Glouten free pizza's

Do these pizza's look any diffrent? the crust is a bit whiter and crispier! That's beacuse they are glouten free pizza's.. It seams that there is a demand for food that is wheat free and doesn't puff up your tummy too much! Or some people end up being allergic to wheat products!

This weekend we catered the glouten free pizza and it went well for the first trial.. it was a bit on the biscuit side of a dough, but we will keep trying till we reach perfection!

Lobels meats!

This weekend at the chalet, a friend of our grilled some fantastic burgers and hotdogs... They were one of the best burgers, and hot dogs I have tried in a while.. It was all about the meat! No extra spices, and sauces to cover the flavors.. Just good old fashioned beef!

Unfortunatly for us, they are not sold in Kuwait! But if your ever in New York, make sure to swing by Lobels and check out there great selction of cuts!

Cheese House

After the cheese is made, it is kept in a cheese house from anywhere between 3 months to 24 months for it to mature. The longer it ages, the stronger the cheese taste becomes, and the more it hardens also.. Oh and the more expensive it gets:)
