Desserts..

I find it so weird when your out for a meal and you order dessert, and just after you put in the order you get a selection of free samplers. I mean how much can you eat?

And take a look at this.. this is no joke, that's alot of choices!

Any way despite the fact that this was all free, and we had ordered 3 more things to try...the most intresting one is the one in the middel back. It's a tiny root beer float. How cute!

Making the perfect pizza

While driving around, one of the area's we passed by was Modena (who are known to be the best makers of balsamic viniger). I met a very sweet gentelaman by the name of Fabio, who agreed to teach me the tricks of the trade.

First I was taught how to make the perfect pizza without a roller.. all by hand, and using the edge of the table to streach the dough.

You see the pizza in the back? That was a very special pizza. No tomato sauce, just mozzzeralla and when it was out of the oven, it was drizzeled with some 20 year old sweet balsamic vinger.. Excellent!

The wood oven was soo strong, it took about 90 seconds to get a perfectly crisy to the sides, and a soft goowey middle to our pizza.

Thinking outside of the box!

While in Italy, one of the resteraunts we were in was famouse for their sea bass. Now when I say famouse, I mean every table around you is eating one..

Ofcourse we had to try it.. so the waiter walked up and starts to explain the procedure.. first they de-bone the fish, by making a incision from the top of the fish.. then they take all the fish meat out.. mix it up with some potato gratin, restuff the fish, sprinkel it with a layer of cheese and bread crumbs and bake it in the oven till golden.

I am having a hard time to explain the flavors of the fish, so to keep it short: PERFECTION!

Burrata Mozzeralla

Now if you have never tried Burrata Mozzeralla then you don't know what you are missing out on.. It's a creamy, melt in your mouth mozzeralla. It's so soft that it needs to stay tied up in a bag, or a bannana leaf or it will ooze out. As you can see above, it has taken the shape of the plastic bag it was in.

Simply divine.. just a little bit of salt, pepper and it's ready to go.

Great Invite

I was invited to a dinner a few weeks back, and each person had to guess where they were sitting based on their tag.. Guess what mine was?

What a great way to have your guest enjoy your dinner party..

While roaming the streets of Rome, I saw this at a shop.. would you buy this or try it? It's black bread and chicken sandwitch.. but I have never seen it this black before..

Any ideas how they got the bread to turn this color?
