Red pepper paste pizza

I'm sure this looks like any other ordinary pizza to you.. but guess what? It's not. Instead of using tomato paste as the base for the pizza, we used red peppers. It gives it a great interesting kick to it. And for all those readers out there who can't digest tomato's.. no worries, we have a solution!

How to eat and live clean:

I found these health tips in a magazine called Clean Eating and I wanted to share a few of them with you:
1- Drink at least 2 liters of water a day.

2-Get label savvy: Clean foods contain just one or two ingredients. Any product with a long ingredient list is human-made and not considered clean!

3-Drink water with a lemon wedge.

4-Slow down and savor: Never rush through a meal. Food tastes best when savored. Enjoy every bite.

More Random tips:
Did you know that any vegetable that is darker on the outside than from the inside has all the vitamins in the skin? Like cucumbers and eggplants...so make sure to eat the skin also:)

Did you know to help your green produce ripen a little more quickly, store it a perforated plastic bag? The air circilating in the bag retains ethylene gas which can ripen the produce faster.
On the other hand Mama Carmi always stores her avacado's in the uncooked rice basket to help ripen them faster...so try them both, see what works for you!
Enjoy!

Thank You P0ach for this great pictures!

Corn Bread!

Balsamic shallots mashed potato!

Asparagus with pecarino cheese!

Balsamic holland brown, white and portabello Mushroom!

Last but not least, the beautiful Turkey:)

We Got Robbed!

Breaking News: 14-11-09

Kuwait City, Dar Al Awadi 12:34pm:

As the driver to the Munch van was loading the car to go to a BBQ catering.. he soon realized that something was missing. Having looked everywhere for it, it hit him, we got robbed..

Munch is now outsourcing some of our desserts to Athba's bakery. Who was kind enough to make us a tray of her best sellers.

Can you imagine how good it must have looked for someone to come and take the whole thing?
I'm trying to find any angle of the camera to show the culprit..but no luck yet!

To our BBQ client: We are so sorry to not be able to deliver your dessert to you, but after this incident I am considering hiring food guards "kind of like a body guard" and a armored vehicle!

To the culprit: I GOT MY EYES ON YOU!

New York hot dog stand

Yesterdays catering was alot of fun. The weather was so amazing that all the guest moved outside to enjoy the night. But the smell of the BBQ got their stomachs growling and they ended up hanging out by the counter waiting for what-ever was ready!

I loved it, it felt like a New York hot dog stand..people were ordering and saying "can I have some more ketchup", or "hold the mayo", or "can I get some more grilled onions".

It was a moment that had to be captured with a photo to understand..
What a beautiful New York night it was!

Lemon Oregano Chicken

Since the BBQ catering was at a gallery opening, we cut up the chicken and served them with toothpicks as bites. But you can always ask for it when ordering to be in a sandwich also...oooh on brown baguette with fresh crisp lettuce leaves and the garlic aioli..You can't go wrong with that!

Lemon Oregano Chicken

Over the past week, the Munch staff and I have started to take butchery classes. Believe it or not but that perfectly butterflied chicken breast was not cut by me:)

Mine is the messier one in the background that I choose not to focus on.

For all you health conscious readers, next time we BBQ cater for you, ask for the Lemon Oregano chicken. And it comes with a great balsamic garlic aioli..
Enjoy!

Munch understaffed!

As we have one cook going to get married, and the other not back from vacation, Munch had a helping hand from Mama Carmi. For all of you who haven't had the chance to meet Mama Carmi, I am her protege, we spent hours on the phone as she taught me to cook while I was a student in Denver. At one point we even thought of naming the restaurant Carmi's.

And every now and then she comes in to check on us in the restaurant, and teaches us a few tricks..
Let me share one of them with you:

*The safest way to clean your fridge is with vinegar (not balsamic, it's to expensive and it will leave a mark...lol ) once a week. Take all your food out and give it a nice scrub.

We love you Carmi!
