I want to take you to the candy shop..

Check out the coolest place a kid (and me) could ever ask for! It's this great little place called sweet shop that had loads and loads of sugar infused goodies.. I mean just name it, and they got it!

The best part about it is that's is like the old school Candy shops, where you point and they take out the candy, weight it, bag it and then sell it to you... Sooooo Much Fun!

My day in Windsor!

Have you been to Windsor? If not.. it's where the queen lives in the UK.. and today she was there because the flag was up. I was thinking of having afternoon tea with the queen, but I didn't want to bother her on the weekend. But we made plans to catch up next time I'm in town! :)

Actually we went to visit some friends over there and they took us to this very typical British restaurant called Brown's and it was excellent.

I had the baked Camembert with grilled bread and grapes.. Delicious!

Oven backed mushrooms with Pesto and baby mozzarella balls! This was fresh and one of the best dishes I have tried that was all about the mushrooms!

The Camembert was so good, I had to add another shot!

Goat cheese tart with caramelized onions.. wonderful!

Lady Gaga! Ma ma maaaaaaaa!

Last night was the Lady Gaga concert in London, and we had booked about 2 months ago for the tickets. To our surprise, when we arrived, the concierge at the hotel told us that they had oversold tickets and the promoters had not issued ours. So of course we got really upset, and the hotel management felt really bad that we took we came "all the way from Kuwait" hehehe to see Lady Gaga! Next thing you know, they hooked us up with box suite tickets..

Wow! Basically we get our own little suites with sofa's and a buffet, drinks, and a butler, and our seats to the concert in this kick ass room!

The thing that impressed me the most of course a7em a7em is the buffet! We had everything from hot dogs, samosa, canapes, sandwiches, quiche, chips and dips, chicken kebabs, and prawn cocktail..Wowaweeeeeee!

Besides all the food and the great treatment.. the concert was amaaaaaaaaazing. Lady Gaga rock's!

Po po po po poker faaaaaaaaaaace! Ma ma maaaaaaaaaa!

Fancy Shmancy!

Last night we dined at a little restaurant that served the olive oil in a very beautiful way! The waiter put the glass cylinder in the oil and closes the top with his finger and then pours it in a plate by removing his finger from the top.. loved it.. Time to see where I can buy one from!

Locanda Locatelli London

My first day in London, and it is started with the usual ritual of dinner at Locanda. For those of you who used to watch BBC food, you might remember Giorgio Locatelli's show: The cute Italian with the heavy accent!

Well, he is know for his own style of cooking, and it's not your usual Italian restaurant. It's more of a upscale, posh, high end ingredients used in his method of cooking. Defiantly worth a try..

Guess what? It's truffle season here also.. but they got the super strong, rich flavored black truffle, where you get just a few shavings.
A simple pasta with butter sauce and truffle shavings: about 18kd

The beautiful little ice container they had on the table, with a rubber casing. Pay attention to how cute the tongs are!

Winter salad: Loads of fennel and dark greens with a light olive oil dressing.

Cooked brushetta, delicious!

A interesting take on scrambled eggs! And again with truffles:) Keep 'em coming.. can't get enough of them truffles!

Languestine spaghetti

Crab salad.
Locando Locatelli is located in the Churchill hotel on Seymour street. If your looking for good food, dimmed lights, and great quite atmosphere.. then book yourself a table next time your in town..

Juice catering!

Oooh I wish it was summer and I was on a boat with this ice box! (no sand storm please)

Yesterday we had a fun, colorful catering of juices.. It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then we get people calling us up ordering bottels and bottels of juice and glasses.. I loved how they looked all stacked up side by side.
A work of art!

Bang Bang Chicken Salad!

A nice large Bang Bang chicken salad ready to go out to a catering!
I love how vibrent the colors are.

A night in Dalaa's kitchen!

"There is no greater love, than the love of food" If I were to die and go to heaven, I would assume that the delicacies served by Dala'a Mufti would be my reward for all the brownie points I have collected in life.

Where do I begin, they say that "the way to a man's heart is thru his stomach" then it definately applies in this case-as I'm sure my cousin, (her husband) got lured in by her wonderful delights!! Who wouldn't? I sure am one of her newest fans!

I guess Dala'a is used to cooking for large dinners, because the spread she put out for a measley group of 5 girls could surely have fed part of the Amercian base in Kuwait (mashalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah)!!!
Above: Shoulder of lamb with vegetables and a Musterd Gravey!

This was something new to me.. a Italian seafood stew called Chippino!

Freekah with chicken topped with pine nuts and almonds!

Spicy Burgal salad, similar to a taboulah but the Borgals are cooked in this salad!

Harrak Isba3aw which actully translated to burnt fingers.. I will find out why?

Grilled vegetables marinated in a balsamic sauce. A yummi dish for all you health watchers!

The obvious Warak aneb! Im not sure what I prefer more.. dolma or warak aneb.. and cold or hot.. hmm regardless, this was great! Just the right amount of tang to it!

A new twist on the faga3.. maybe if you look close enough you can see the red chilli.. Oooh that was good. I have never tried fage3 with chilli before! Ofcourse a little parsley and garlic and a touch of olive oil to help blend the flavors together only does wonders to this great dish!

Our gracious hostess started the night by serving us only the best smoked salmon: Balik.
As I didn't stay around long enough to savor, I am sure her equally delicious desserts were just as good.
I end this post with a smile on face and salivating as I write this..Thinking.. when will be the next time I get invited again :)
Thank You Dala'a!

We should have more roof tops in Kuwait!

A few nights ago, I was invited to a beautiful dinner on a roof top. Yes, Munch was there also:) The air was soooo fresh, and my eyes were soooo relaxed, it made me realize, we hardly see the horizen in Kuwait.

Eaither it's blocked by buildings or our street layouts have home plots jammed one after the other. It was so fresh to be able to stand up there and walk around, and let the cool breaze hit you! Ans what a great veiw it is!

If your reading this and you are in the process of building your home.. think about a roof top!

London Rocks!

As I did for my last trip, I am giving you the heads up! I'm leaving to london in a few days.. Not to worry my dear readers, as I will be updating you with all the new, hot places to go see and eat.

So make sure to stay tuned this coming week..and if you have any places you think I should check out.. Comment please:)

Wake up with a sweet note!

Good morning Kuwait. For those of you reading this post and already know what Auer is, then I'm sure your salivating and already craving one of those little peices of Heaven in a box!
For those of you who have not had the chance to try these chocolates, let me tell you about them: Auer is a very famous chocolatier in Switzerland, and has won many awards. Inside this yellow box are about 50 toasted almonds, coated with the softest milk chocolate and dusted off with only the finest coco powder... Oh my! Once you open the box you know your'e in trouble!
So the good news is they deliver to Kuwait, and the bad news is these little guys are about 80 calories a peice..so eat with caution!

Still in the fage3 kick!

I went again to the fage3 market .. take a look at this bad boy! I think it might be the biggest truffel I have ever seen. It's almost 1/2 a kilo, it was crazy! I'm going to put some olive oil, salt and pepper and a bit of garlic and bake it in some foil till it's tender and soft.. can't wait!
